Verlag die blaue GiRAFFE

Als gebürtige Niederländerin kam ich 1997 nach Karlsruhe um in den Europäischen Schulen in Karlsruhe und Frankfurt zu unterrichten. Sechs Jahre war ich als Lehrerin und Learning Support Teacher in diesen Grundschulen tätig. Und dann war die Zeit gekommen ein Traum umzusetzen. 2004 erschien das erste Buch in meinem Verlag die blaue GiRAFFE. Selbstverständlich gründete ich gleichzeitig einen Verlag in den Niederlanden: uitgeverij die blauwe GiRAFFE.


Das erste Buch in Deutschland war "Wie der Elefant eine GiRAFFE wurde". Klicken Sie einfach den Titel an, um mehr über das Buch und über andere Bücher, die in dem Verlag erschienen, zu erfahren.

Inzwischen erweitern die Aktivitäten sich.

Demnächst gibt es eine Plüschgiraffe. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma Rasehorn, arbeiten wir an Spielwaren, die die Themen der Bücher ergänzen.

Der Club-die-blaue-GiRAFFE öffnet demnächst die virtuellen Türe für Kinder, die sich kreativ mit Wort und Bild aus einander setzen wollen. Ein Forum für Erwachsene, in dem Erfahrungen im Bereich Leseförderung und Kindererziehung ausgetauscht werden können, ist ebenfalls in Vorbereitung.

Fügen wir noch die Pläne für Hörspiele, interaktive e-Bücher und Workshops und Seminars hinzu, und Sie wissen, dass auch Sie bestimmt heute und/oder in der nächsten Zukunft bei der blauen GiRAFFE etwas Gutes für (Ihre) Kinder finden werden. Stöbern Sie öfter durch die Seiten im Internet. Sie werden bestimmt fündig.

Uitgeverij die blauwe GiRAFFE

Sinds 1997 woon ik in Duitsland, in de buurt van Karlsruhe. Daar verscheen in 2004 het eerste kinderboek in mijn Duitstalige uitgeverij die blaue GiRAFFE.

Maar ik ben en blijf Nederlandse en daarom ontstond ook uitgeverij die blauwe GiRAFFE in Nederland. (Inderdaad, met het woordje DIE in plaats van DE. Ik vond dat speelser staan in het logo. Het nadeel is wel, dat veel mensen nu vragen, of dit een Duitse uitgeverij is. Nee dus!)

Het eerste Nederlandstalige boek

heet "Bij muis thuis".

Een jaar later kwam ook deel 2:

"Muis buitenshuis".
ISBN 90-77675-00-0

Deze boeken maken direct al duidelijk, waar die blaue GiRAFFE
voor staat: plezier aan woord en beeld beleven en tegelijkertijd
de eigen creativiteit (her)vinden en ontwikkelen.

Hoe dat in deze boeken zichtbaar wordt?

Een muizenfamilie richt de hele omgeving in met voorwerpen,
die ze bij de mensen weggehaald hebben. Zo wordt een schoen
een auto - een cabrio zelfs -, een cd een tafelblad, een krant
behang of een thee-ei een lamp. In ieder boek zijn tien
maquettes te zien, die met allerlei voorwerpen gemaakt zijn.
De muizen komen in deze maquettes tot leven.

Korte inleidende rijmpjes bij iedere plaat bevorderen het taalgevoel.
De namen van de voorwerpen zijn (met lidwoord) op een aparte
bladzijde naast de maquette onder het voorwerp
afgebeeld. Zo is het boek ook voor de uitbreiding van de
woordenschat op veel manieren inzetbaar. En natuurlijk
is het boek hierdoor ook één grote zoekplaat geworden.

Wat ik zelf fantastisch vind: heel veel kinderen gaan direct
aan de slag en bouwen hun eigen muizen-huis. Dat stimuleert
de creativiteit natuurlijk in hoge mate. En dat vind ik
persoonlijk misschien nog wel het allerbelangrijkst.

Ik las laats een serie interviews met kinderboekenuitgevers in
Duitsland. Iedereen kreeg de volgende vraag voorgelegd:
"Wat is voor u een goed kinderboek?" Het antwoord van bijna
iedereen was: "Een boek met het logo van onze uitgeverij op
de kaft." Dat vind ik een flauw antwoord. Natuurlijk sta ook
ik helemaal achter onze eigen boeken (en andere producten).
Maar een kinderboek is pas een goed kinderboek, als kinderen
er heel graag in lezen, kijken of - nog mooier - er iets mee
gaan doen. Als hun ouders of leerkrachten het dan ook interessant
vinden, dan ben ik helemaal gelukkig. Dat betekent dan voor mij,
dat de extra dimensie, die ik zoek in goede boeken, ook herkend
is. Voor mij bestaan kinderboeken eerlijk gezegd niet... Een goed
kinderboek heeft ook volwassenen iets te bieden.

Dat prentenboeken vaak als "geschikt van ... jaar tot ... jaar"
worden gezien, doet geen recht aan de vaak heel hoge kwaliteit
en kunstzinnige inspanning van de auteur en de illustrator.
Maar daarover misschien een volgende keer meer.

Some changes for this blog

It has been a long time, I know.

I started this blog a couple of months ago,
just to find out how to blog. It is fun!
But I don't have to tell you this.
Who reads blogs, knows that.
The reason I didn't post since August,
lies in the fact there were thousands of things
in preparation, that I couldn't announce yet.

This post is in English, because so far everything
was in English. But....

... as the title says, it is time to make
some changes. After this long silence, I will
introduce you to what I came up with in the following days.

You might want to check out my linklist. That list will
bring you to the sites and blogs that I will be telling you
about as from tomorrow.

The first announcement:
there will be three different languages appearing on this blog.
To make it easy for you to find the post in the language you
prefer to read, I will publish them in different colours.

English texts will be in this colour. I write in English, because
I will be launching "unfold to bloom" soon. More information
to come, of course... Also some other projects I will introduce
you to are in English language. Sometimes texts will be published
in one language only, sometimes in two, or in all three.
It will depend on the subject.

Deutsche Tekste werden in dieser Farbe dargestellt.
Mein Verlag die blaue GiRAFFE veröffentlicht (Kinder-)bücher
in deutscher Sprache. Aber auch andere spannenden Projekte
sind in Vorbereitung. Ich werde Sie selbstverständlich auf dem
Laufenden halten. Manchmal lesen Sie Tekste in einer Sprache,
manchmal in zwei, oder auch in drei. Das wird vom Thema
abhängen.

Nederlandse teksten zullen in deze kleur te lezen zijn.
Mijn uitgeverij die blauwe GiRAFFE publiceert (kinder-)boeken
in het Nederlands. Maar er zijn ook een paar andere projecten
in voorbereiding. Natuurlijk vertel ik daarover binnenkort veel
meer. Soms zijn teksten in één, dan weer in twee of alle drie de
talen te lezen. Dat gaat natuurlijk van het onderwerp afhangen.

Ever thought about that?

I never had to pay for a gift, did you?

But lately I found out:

A busy day - 1 - the Symfollies

I am searching for...
AN ORCHESTRA FOR GERMANY!


My work is my hobby.
This has always been very important to me.
And it still is.

I used to be a primary school teacher and a
special needs teacher in the Netherlands.
Later I moved to Germany.
Here I taught children in the European
Schools in Karlsruhe and Frankfurt.

I did quit this job.
Not because I was tired of teaching,
but because there were new aerea's to be explored.

Then I started die blaue GiRAFFE in Germany
and die blauwe GiRAFFE in the Netherlands.
For those two publishing houses,
there are many interesting things to be done.

And the journey goes on. As I mentioned above:

I search musicians and - just as important -
a sponsor for classical concerts for families.

Why? Because I got involved in a most amazing
project: the Symfollies.
